Perfect … mostly

It has been quite a week! Preparing for a wedding on a family farm, is a family affair. A fallen tree reminded us of that it’s not good to be alone. Many hands make light work. It’s not like we didn’t have enough to do getting ready for the wedding but everyone pitched in and got the tree chainsaw and the debris removed. Starting married life with a totaled car and a little extra stress was not what my girl expected, but she handled things with grace and she always does. More importantly, nobody was hurt by a tree that could easily take far more than a vehicle.

The weather teases us a little bit, but we couldn’t have asked for better in the end. The wind behaved itself and the rain stayed away. Our littlest one was an absolute champ, and provided the precious for each and every moment..

Decades melted away, music was played, and laughter a plenty. Every little hiccup in planning or wedding details was quickly resolved by the people who matter most to. all of us. More flowers, no problem. Set the tables? We got it done.

Time with loved ones was plentiful but always feels too short. I finish my first farm week a little tired but in the best kind of way… from late nights spent reminiscing and days full of fun with those who make my heart happy.
