Buds

This afternoon we spent some time trimming a bunch of our peach trees. The buds are just starting to show and a few bloomed early. It seems mean to trim off hard grown branches but pruning is supposed to help the trees grow healthy and strong. I hope our work turns out to be a blessing for the trees, critters who like their fruit and us.

While we trimmed, Otto was itching to play. I wrestled with him a bit amid trimming. Then, took a break to walk and check on the duck family in turtle pond. Sure enough the duck family was there and as usual they spooked quickly as we approached.

A windy weekend brought us some rest, sunshine and a peek into Spring. It was just what we all needed to rest and recharge as we head towards garden season.
